Who doesn’t love brownies! We recently found a great recipe and altered a little to enjoy on Valentines Day.
With 2 kids all holidays are so different now and we are loving every minute of it. The cold nights with fires and pallets on the floor with Friday night movie night is our new normal. Sometimes I catch Hudson entertaining his sister or Caroline studying his every move then breaking out in the biggest smile ever. It takes my breath away and puts a huge smile on my face. (Phil feels the same way)
We count our blessings every day. So celebrate your blessings with these yummy brownies.
6 tbls cocoa powder
6 tbls butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups Bisquick (We used Gluten Free)
1/4 cup applesauce
1/2 mini chocolate chips (or your favorite topping)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter with cocoa powder in a medium saucepan over medium heat; stirring to combine until completely melted. Mix in sugar and Bisquick. Allow to cool slightly before adding in the eggs and applesauce. Stir well. Gently fold in the nuts (or sprinkle on top like we did). Add chocolate chips or fold in to batter. Next time I may find peanut butter chips to also mix in. Pour into a greased 9×9 pan. Bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. These were super rich and yummy. The variations are endless for your family to enjoy.
